On the Season four, Episode seven episode of The Eric Andre Show, which aired September 23rd, 2016, Eric Andre interviews Bister Rose. During the interview, Andre reads a racist tweet and attributes it to Rose, and asks her why she would say something "and then controversial yet so dauntless." Rose never sent the tweet.

Later that month, the image began being used on Tumblr equally a reaction paradigm to relatively banal opinions. The mail service gained over 55,000 notes overall (shown below, left). On December 29th, Tumblr user crymosome[iv] reblogged a series of text posts reversing normally paired words with the image.
